When is the Self Assessment deadline for crypto? +
For the 2025/26 tax year, file online and pay by 31 January 2027. Register for Self Assessment by 5 October 2026 if you first owed tax in that year.
When does the UK tax year run? +
The UK tax year runs 6 April to 5 April. Crypto disposals and income are reported against the tax year in which they happen.
When do the FCA's full crypto rules start? +
The mandatory FCA authorisation regime for in-scope crypto activities begins on 25 October 2027. Firms can apply between 30 September 2026 and 28 February 2027.
