# My exchange closed — I have incomplete records

Reconstruct records from bank statements, emails and blockchain explorers where possible. HMRC expects reasonable efforts. Undeclared tax may be corrected through voluntary disclosure.

- Export any remaining exchange data
- Match bank transfers to buys and sells
- Use block explorer for wallet history
- Document gaps honestly if filing or disclosing
